CASTROL LM, AP2, AP3, EPL1, EPL2, EPL0 Multipurpose Greases DESCRIPTION Castrol LM, AP2, AP3, EPL2, EPL1, EPL0 multi-purpose, Lithium base greases start with specially selected mineral oils of outstanding oxidation and corrosion properties and are manufactured to close control of drop points, penetration numbers, alkalinity and ash content to offer high stability, long life, excellent resistance to changes in consistency and good water-proof quality. They are characterised by their smooth texture, low starting torque, high melting point to work successfully at temperatures as high as 120°C, and good pumpability even at -30°C. Their great affinity for metal surfaces gives added protection, lubrication and resistance at centrifugal force at high speeds. In fact, these greases may be considered as combining many of the desirable features of calcium and sodium greases, and for this reason are finding wide application as ''all-purpose'' greases to such an extent that one grade may be used for all grease applications throughout a car, truck, plant or vessel. Some of these grades are supplemented with oxidation and corrosion inhibitors to enhance the excellent qualities exhibited by the base oils. Others are fortified with lead and sulphurised fatty oils to offer extreme pressure and antirust properties. APPLICATIONS Castrol LM - a premium quality grease primarily designed for wheel bearing lubrication. It is outstanding as a general chassis lubricant and is suitable for most automotive applications. Spheerol AP2, AP3 - bearing greases containing oxidation and corrosion inhibitors, are approved by most bearing manufacturers and widely used in most industries. Spheerol EPL2, EPL1, EPL0 - high quality E.P. grease containing additives of lead, soap and sulphurised fatty compounds. This imparts extreme pressure characteristics giving extra protection against wear under heavy and shock loading conditions.
