Biogas contains Carbon Dioxide CO₂ and trace amount of Hydrogen Sulfide,  H₂S. However, H₂S is corrosive in nature, and also an environmental hazard.  It forms a pollutant - an acidic  gas sulfur dioxide (SO₂), upon combustion .Therefore, H₂S must be removed prior to supplying to combustion chamber of engine as  to prevent corrosion of  various  components, for example  compressors, gas storage tanks, pipes and engines.
